French Toast Casserole

Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp. corn syrup
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ¼ lb. butter
- 1 loaf italian bread
- 5 eggs
- 1 ½ cups milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- ¼ tsp. salt
- Powdered Sugar (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a small pan, heat the corn syrup, brown sugar, and butter until the sugar melts and becomes syrup. Pour into a 9x13 baking pan.
- Slice the bread, and lay it in the pan on top of the syrup, overlapping the slices
- Mix the eggs, millk, vanilla, and salt together. Pour over the bread, cover and refrigerate. Let the mixture sit overnight.
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Bake for 45 minutes uncovered. Garnish with powdered sugar before serving.
