French Toast Casserole

French Toast Casserole

Total time:  1 hour
 
Ingredients
  • 2 Tbsp. corn syrup
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ¼ lb. butter
  • 1 loaf italian bread
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 ½ cups milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • Powdered Sugar (for garnish)
Instructions
  1. In a small pan, heat the corn syrup, brown sugar, and butter until the sugar melts and becomes syrup. Pour into a 9x13 baking pan.
  2. Slice the bread, and lay it in the pan on top of the syrup, overlapping the slices
  3. Mix the eggs, millk, vanilla, and salt together. Pour over the bread, cover and refrigerate. Let the mixture sit overnight.
  4. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Bake for 45 minutes uncovered. Garnish with powdered sugar before serving.
