Ingredients
  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 cup onion (chopped)
  • 2 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 29 oz Muir Glen diced tomatoes (undrained)
  • 16 oz salsa
  • 15 oz tomato sauce
  • 15 oz dark red kidney beans (drained and rinsed)
  • 15 oz black beans (drained and rinsed)
  • ½ cup water
  • 2 Tbsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp dried oregano leaves
  • 1 Jalapeno or Serrano pepper (minced)
Instructions
  1. In 4 quart pot cook beef an onion over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally until beef is cooked.
  2. Drain beef, then add garlic. Cook and stir for 1 minute.
  3. Stir in all remaining ingredients and heat to boiling, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally until slightly thickened.
